Kitsune Taiko

TAIKOPROJECT is committed to maintaining taiko as a community based tradition through education and outreach activities. TAIKOPROJECT members serve as instructors for community youth programs.

Kitsune Taiko was founded in 2002 at the Los Angeles Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple and is named after the mysterious and mischievous kitsune fox of Japanese folklore.

Young taiko students who reach a high level of achievement in taiko classes are invited to be performing members of Kitsune Taiko, hailed as "the baddest youth taiko group to hit Little Tokyo." Kitusune Taiko is comprised of junior high and high school students.
